Emily Dickinson Project

"Poetry has always been important to me; my father wrote poetry during his lifetime and my sister Dairena Ní Chinnéide is a celebrated poet.
I always have a poetry book lying around ! Anthologies especially are sources of peace and inspiration and in my view ,a dog–eared copy of a good poetry anthology is balm for the soul and a must in a home.
Volumes by loved poets are portals into another world entirely and Emily Dickinson’s world is a singular one. Visiting the area last year, I spent a spellbinding afternoon in Emily Dickinson’s home in Amherst, MA and my interest in her life and work was reignited . "

I am currently collaborating with US - based musician Peter Blanchette ( www.archguitar.com ) on a series of musical settings of selected Emily Dickinson poems.
The collaboration blends Peter’s work as a composer and archguitarist with my voice , to create interpretations that honour the spirit, wit, and subtle complexity of Dickinson’s work.

" It is a thrilling experience and I can’t wait to showcase the songs."
